Hi! I’m Nicole, founder of Zero Waste NYC.

In 2018 after eight years in the advertising industry, I decided to follow my passion for the environment and transitioned to a freelance consulting role. In the summer of 2022, I then accepted a full-time role with Re:Dish, a company that helps food service to be more sustainable through reusable dishware.

In September 2019, I was ready to hold space for others and became inspired to host an event to talk about my zero waste journey and share my experience. Shortly after, the Sanitation Foundation asked to partner with me on future programming and we’ve done 50+ workshops together across the five boroughs.

I am an active sustainability advocate, educator, and a TRUE Zero Waste Advisor. I’ve been practicing low waste since 2017. I have worked with corporations, startups, nonprofits, and social enterprises and interviewed and conversed with over 100 sustainability experts from CEO's, to zero waste film producers, climate change advocates, and local community members. On a personal note, I’m a wife and a mom to a beautiful baby boy named Logan, born in July 2023.

Our workshops bring together the sustainability community in New York City and beyond and provide as many tools as possible to make low waste an approachable way of life. We welcome conversations about difficult topics like environmental racism and other social justice issues. Lastly, we strive to help individuals become advocates in their community (and beyond) so we can effect climate change in a bigger way.

I can’t wait to meet you at a future workshop! Feel free to reach out to me anytime at nicole@zerowastenyc.info.
